Using metaphors from alchemy, Fires Rising creates a vessel in a ritual fire circle setting, where you transmute leaden patterns of thought or behavior into a beautifully adaptive, golden new reality. In this sacred space, you can rise like the phoenix from the ashes and burn as bright as the sun. This is not a party, but a conscious process. It is a celebration of creating a present of your own choosing rather than extending the maladaptive behaviors, thoughts and actions of your past. We pledge to support one another while taking personal responsibility for our own engagement in the process, our own entertainment, our own healing and for our own safety. In that spirit, we refrain from alcohol or other mind-altering substances, allowing our spirits to experience the transformative power of fire, community and creativity with a clear mind. All forms of artistic expression are welcome; from drumming, chanting, song and dance to painting, smithing and fire spinning. Turn your gaze inward; see what you have to offer and BRING IT ON! Join us in this, the 6th year of Fires Rising at Four Quarters Farm, our year of “Distillation”- a time to learn from our past mistakes and move boldly into the future! Select Co-Laborators available to answer your questions. Sunrise Yoga (location TBD) It’s been a long night and your muscles are tired. Help your mind, body & spirit relax with a gentle stretch. Facilitated by Tara Travia. Cathartic Art (Merchant’s Green) Available throughout the event to explore the Alchemical Process through multiple art mediums. Facilitated by Sophia Shultz. Blacksmithing (Merchant’s Green) The old world art of metal casting, hammering and forging. Facilitated by Rodney Goodling. AFC 102: The Seven Planets Model (Kitchen Pavilion) *highly recommended for new initiates to Alchemical Fire Circles* Bring your brunch and enjoy a more in-depth study of the Alchemical Model and how it correlates to the seven “planets” as well as the chakras and Jungian Archetypes. Facilitated by the Co-Laborators of Fires Rising. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) (location TBD) An approach to psychotherapy based on a connection between neurological processes, language and behavioral patterns that have been learned through experience and that can be organized to achieve specific goals in life. Facilitated by Roxianne Rae. Drum & Chant (location TBD) *for those both familiar and alien to making music in a drum circle setting* All forms of musical inspiration have their place at an Alchemical Fire Circle. Djembes, Djun Djun’s, Digeridoos, singing bowls, harps, accordions, flutes, fiddles, spoken voice, song and more are all welcome! Facilitated by Ziona and Special Guests. AFC 103: Practical Alchemy (Kitchen Pavilion) *highly recommended for new initiates to Alchemical Fire Circles* Bring your brunch again to discuss how to use the tools we have learned around the fire circle in more commonplace settings.
