"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it."  -Rumi

  Rangoli

For three nights, step outside of your usual activities and into a conscious process, immersing yourself in the complex metaphors, archetypes, and images of Alchemy. In the olden days, Alchemy was the science of transmutation, one thing transformed into another thing. We explore the metaphor consciously, trying to figure out ourselves and our worlds and how to exist more authentically and harmoniously within them, and with each other.

The gathering is our Laboratory, and the sacred fire is our vessel where we transform our personal Lead into purest Gold. Our laboratory we construct during the days leading up to the all night fires, continually beautifying and enhancing the space throughout the event. As we work in our processes, our space changes us and changes with us.

And during the night we perform the ritual actions that are our interpretations of the alchemical metaphor. Turn your energies into rhythm, song, dance and chant; speak your truths, listen to others, and step into sacred space to shine.

Fires Rising celebrates creating a present of our own choosing. We support one another while taking personal responsibility for our own safety, healing, entertainment and engagement in this process. In that spirit, we refrain from alcohol and other mind-altering substances. The sacred fire, community, creativity, and the Night are our active ingredients.

All faiths are welcome here. As are the abilities you bring with you. Bring your whole self; your strengths and talents as well as your hurts. Bring the didgeridoos, gongs, singing bowls, frame drums, incenses and oils; bring the the drums, chants, spoken words and dance; bring the painting, fire spinning, theater and decorations that allow you to access our common metaphor. Most of all, bring your love and kindness for your fellow alchemists.

"In truth, without deceit, certain and most veritable: That which is Above is like that which is Below, and that which is Below is like that which is Above, to accomplish the miracle of the One Thing." - Hermes Trismegistus
