Hello Everyone,

Drew And have very ambitious ideas for this service and we would like to get a discussion going to see what interests the members. We would like to focus the weekend on the fiber arts. A lot of us have different skills that I thought we could all share. So if you are interested in this type of thing please post what your skills are that you would be willing to share and what you would like to learn. I also thought that this would be a good time to bring any projects that you are currently working on and need some feedback. We are hoping that there will be enough interest to make this a Fall Festival at the farm.
Blessings

Is there a schedule for this weekend? What's going on?

(hoping that I don't have to miss anything cool due to the Board meeting at 3pm!)

grins,

Sorry no set schedule yet. I totaled my car and had to get a new one. I've been very distracted but refocusing now and working on a schedule. We'd like to start workshops around 11am on Saturday. Em I'd like you to do a felting workshop let me know what time you'd like and how long you like it to be. Kalin I'd like you to do one on making socks especially the heal & toe parts. We can put everything on hold at 3 for the board meeting and to get dinner ready. Sorry guys life has gotten in the way of making this as fabulous as I originally planned it to be. It will still be fabulous but just on a smaller slightly unorganized scale. Drew will be spinning and I haven't figured out what I'll do. Is there something I do that anyone wants to learn? I am pretty much asking you guys to do the things that I want to learn. I'd also like to set a time for brainstorming about what an event like this might turn into in the future and how it might benefit the farm.

Blessings

i can do a basic "this is how you make felt" workshop in an hour.  or something more involved like making a hat in 2ish hours.  put me at whatever time you can.  i will be in the BoD meeting at 3 also

I'm happy to bring knitting looms and instructions for socks.

Thing is.. in order to do the heels and toes, a basic understanding of loom knitting is required (casting on and at least one type of stitch). Might it be better to address "how to loom knit" this time, and do heels & toes next time?

Important note:  I am NOT teaching the basics of weaving anything; I'm teaching the basics of Loom KNITTING. Different thing entirely.

Weaving is a wonderful art, but not in my skill set Smiley

See you soon,
