Hey Kate,

On behalf of the rest of the Order of the Bracers, you know you can count on us to light the Bel Fire and tend the Saturday night fire until, well, 'other' Beltane-type festivities pop up across the land Wink  Of course we're always looking for more recruits too, as many hands make heavy work light. If you're interested in joining the Order of the Bracers, or just want to know more about what we do, meet us at the Fire Circle after breakfast!

Jenny Grimm has forwarded me the following proposal for a workshop:

WORKSHOP PROPOSAL FOR FOUR QUARTERS FARM

Hello, in talking with some members and from a my many hikes on the land I would like to offer a workshop/walking tour of the natural (botanical) story of Four Quarters. The land does have a diversity of native plant life of the region and I know many wonder-what is that plant, tree, lichen, etc.? Some of the focus will be on how some of these plants were/are used as medicine and food by humans in the past and present. And also a strong emphasis on conservation and protection!! I would also like to point out how a few invasives have moved onto the land, that is mostly from human comings and goings.

I envision the workshop/tour to be interactive, in that I am no expert and if there are others with more and better knowledge in attendance, they share with the group. I also would compile a reading list for people to gain better knowledge. The list would be derived from internet and literary resources. Of course the walking tour would be done with great care and respect for the land and the botany that resides there!

If this is suitable, I would like to do this workshop/walking tour for the Beltaine and the Drum and Splash gatherings. These are very good times to see the botany of the region. And to talk of the peculiarity and fragility of this Eastern woodland ecosystem. And to show how the plant life moves and changes over the spring and summer. By the time of Stones Rising most of the grandeur of the woodland wildflowers has passed.

If the Board and the Farm is interested, please let me know.

Thank you.

This would be great! I have often wondered these exact things!
And to share, I know yarrow grows wild on the hill by the labyrinth...

Please send them.. hi-resolution style (directly from your camera) to the office!!!

E-mail (office@4QF.org) the best three or four, or download them all to a CD and mail it to us!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!

We want to share them with you and the rest of the universe, on the website, in printed mailings, and advertisements!!!

If you've loaded them to facebook- thanks! But, we still need the hi-res versions!! It's impossible to get them from the dreaded book of faces!!!!
