Hello All ! The 2010 edition of the Four Quarters Wheel of the Year Calendar is in production and we would like to make a request of you. For 2010 we are focusing on two questions. "What does Earth Spirituality mean to you", and "What wisdom does it have to share in addressing the impending global crisis?" We seek your thoughts on these two questions, as one or two paragraph quotes that can be used to illustrate the calendar, and perhaps to be assembled as the lead article for the 2010 issue. If you feel you might have a full length article of your own, we would like to see that too. For Earth Spirituality please feel free to use the label you prefer to describe your own spiritual path; Wicca, Native, Afro-Caribbean, Neo-Pagan as examples, or that perennial favorite "Other." -smile And as for the message that your experience of Earth Spirituality has to share, open your heart and mind. Lift your voice. We and the world are listening. Four Quarters PS: Please send your thoughts to MEGALITH at 4QF.ORG with -Calendar Quotes- as the subject header or visit the Four Quarters Forum and post to the thread "Two Questions" under the "Talk Around the Fire" public area. |

Hello All! Here at the Four Quarters office the excitement is building for The Allegheny Mountain Green Festival. We really do believe that this will be a ground breaking event for all of us and very important for the future of Four Quarters. As always with any new event, we have a case of the butterflies. What if it rains; what if nobody comes? Rain aside, you can help us spread the word about the event, and here is how. Please go to the "About" page on the AMGF.org web site. There you will find a ready made text link and banner link. Could you pretty please paste these links into your email, your web pages, blogs and social networking sites? Its easy. Cut. Paste. Paste `em all over the Internet. We also have nice color posters available, and flyers too. The "About" page will tell you all about it. Your help will really, really help. Thanks The Office Staff |

Embers - An Intimate Ritual Continuum of Fire Circle Magic Thursday Sept 28th - Sunday Oct 1st, 2006 at Four Quarters Interfaith Sanctuary http://www.4qf.org/_Embers/index.htm NOTE: Embers is being openly planned in the Members section of the Forum. All are welcome to participate in the planning process for this ceremonially intensive event. Up to date information is in the public section of the Forum We have planted the seed and raised the crop. The fires have burned and surged; our persons transformed. Embracing the Gift and with winter nigh; Now is the time to bank the fire, to pull from its glowing bed those last bright burning Embers and make of them a gift to our Tribe, the Age Old Promise of Return, with which to build the Fires yet again. Building on our experience of Alchemical Fire Circle as expressed each Spring with "Fires Rising"; Embers is the indigenous ceremonial traditions of Four Quarters made manifest within the Magic of Sacred Fire Circle. Our Traditions of Service to the Circle, the Role of the Sacred Witness, the Sharing of Food, the Community Medicine Bundle, Our Honor of Our Ancestors, the Four Directions and their Elements within Sacred Space. A Journey through our Past, a Dreamtime sojourn in our Present, and the Gift of the Transformed to the Future of the Tribe. For two nights and a day we will live as one community within the embrace of the Stone Circle, making food, music, talk, art, dream, Ceremony and High Majick. Embers assumes some prior experience in one of the many flavors of Magic Fire Circle. You should be prepared to take responsibility for creating and offering your own contributions to Fire Circle and your Tribe. To be open and listening; making space for the sonic and spiritual contributions of others. · All food for Embers, as well as refreshments from the Coffee Dragons, from Friday dusk until Sunday’s dawning, are provided as an integral part of the ceremonial experience; prepared, served and shared from the Food Altar within the sacred enclosure of the Stone Circle. · The Community Nest around the North Altar is a physically constructed raised platform, decorated and furnished; capable of accommodating 100 people and including the Food Altar; all sheltered under the oaks and colored Witness Arbors of the Stone Circle. Aside from ceremonies that may take the Tribe out of the Circle and onto the Land, it is envisioned that it will be practical for individuals to stay within the Stone Circle for the entirety of Embers. · To the East of the Nest and facing the East Gate and Mother Stone of the Circle is our Fire Circle proper. A raised fire brazier surrounded by benches and decorated hangings; the dance and drum circle covered in a layer of sawdust. Activities and Ceremonies to include: · A Candle for Our Ancestors · "Stone Soup" for Saturday night, made during the day in a copper cauldron over the Fire Circle fire, made up of contributions from all · Creation of the Tribe’s clay reliquary box, to contain the last Embers of the Sacred Fire until Beltaine next. Creation of individual reliquaries, with which to bring the Embers home to your Clan. · Individuals or small groups focus on and develop their own creative art/ expressive/ceremonial offering to the Saturday night fire, with all the ceremonial equipment of Four Quarters offered for their use. Focusing on what we bring into the collective future, working magic to bring about positive change. · A Gift to the River. We make our ceremony, present our gift, and set it adrift and aflame upon the Waters, carrying our Tribal offering outward, into the world.

Yule at Four Quarters is fast approaching. Yule more than any other holiday at Four Quarters is the celebration honoring the good folks who are sustaining the old ways, and making new ones. On this, the Winter's Solstice we are balanced lightly but firmly between the ancient past and the far flung future. We celebrate the rebirth of the Sun, exchange kisses under this mistletoe, and we feast. Baking cookies, decorating the feast hall, feasting with Family and Tribe, the beloved and silly Pirate's Gift Exchange and ceremony in the Stone Circle that keeps an eye to the old ways, but is rooted in the hearts of the folks who gather in the Stone Circle to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Activities include: Cooking baking and decorating by adults and children, Kid's Pirate Gift Exchange, the reading of the Lorax, Spiral Scouts will be making decorations for the feast hall, Ceremony in Stone Circle, Sing-a-long, Feast, and Adult Pirate Gift Exchange. Friday December 16 - Sunday December 18 Members $25, Guests $35 R.S.V.P. Please |

Hello All! This is PittyPat Althouse with an announcement about two new topics that I just added to the Forum. The first is the Spiral Scout topic for those interested in coordinating meetups and activities for our Spiral Scout Circle #95. The second topic is for Fires Rising. I've already started getting pre-registrations for this event, and it looks like this festival will be a wonderful addition to our season. So, for those who use email notification, don't forget to update your profiles! Blessings, PittyPat |

Greetings everyone, First I'd like to send out thank yous to all who have sent in membership renewals. As you know, the end of the membership renewal grace period is tomorrow, April 1st. Also, I wanted to tell those who bought the seasonal fire ring permits last year and liked the nifty new rings we bought that we hand out those nice new rings on a first come, first serve basis after April 1st, and we have a waiting list for those that don't get renewed. *nudge nudge* Despite the current cold front dropping flurries on the land, signs of Spring are apparent. Truckloads of gravel have been laid on the roads and more are coming. The mead is bubbling along nicely, and I expect to bottle Maiden's Blush in about three weeks. And the buzz is growing for the coming season, not the least of which has been from the good and thoughtful comments of those who sent in the questionnaire. Just one short month until Beltaine, when the pilgrims come back to the Land...and I'll be seeing you then, to welcome you back home. Blessings, Pat Althouse |

Pat Althouse here again. Something important I forgot to mention about the Lifetime Promoting memberships is that Four Quarters would be happy to talk with individuals to set up a payment plan. We understand that those desiring a Lifetime Promoting membership might not have the entire amount all at once. Blessings, Pat Althouse |

Greetings! Pat Althouse here with a Four Quarters update: April 1st is approaching fast! Don't forget to renew your memberships. We Love getting responses to the Questionnaire. If you didn't fill yours out and mail it to us, please do so. We want to hear everyone's input. The 2003 Wheel of the Year Calendar of events is still in production. The calendar is 50% larger than last year's and is packed full of info about Four Quarters, articles, and the upcoming event season! It is definitely worth the wait. Due to investment in projects for the coming season, like the bigger calendar mentioned above, Four Quarters is currently low on funds. Another reason we are low on funds is because we have had many mechanical difficulties: the Dodge Stratus blew its transmission, the motor of the washing machine died, the office scanner died (an integral piece of equipment, providing the beautiful artwork that appears in the calendar) and had to be replaced, the office copier also blew a part and has put a hold on futher mailings of the Member's Muse until we have the money to repair it, and to top it off, the Minne Moline tractor is also non-functional right now. You sure can tell that Mercury went retrograte, eh? If you are able to send us your membership renewals and annual camp fees sooner than the April 1st deadline, we sure would be grateful. For the first time, the two Lifetime Promoting memberships available for 2003 are still up for grabs. In every other year, these coveted memberships have been taken before the end of January. If you are interested, please contact Four Quarters directly. The bright side is that the pre-season buzz this year is very promising! We've received lots of positive interest from merchants and outside groups, plus requests for the Wheel of the Year Calendar from outside contacts is high. The excitement is building! Blessings, Pat Althouse Four Quarters Interfaith Sanctuary

Due to several requests for a listing of 2003 Events so that people can plan vacations, I thought that it would be useful to reprint here the event listing from the October email flyer. This is a system wide message from the Four Quarters Forum. The 4qf website, Stones Rising Section, has now been completely updated for this year. Be sure to read the SR02 Main Page, Attending SR02 and the SR02 Ceremonial Prospectus. The Assembly of the Sacred Wheel's prospectus for Sunday's-Temple of the Open Sky-is cross linked and is a must read as well. It is expected that the final hourly schedule will be published within two weeks. Four Quarters Staff, please check your Forum profiles and make sure that you are set to recieve e-mail from the "Staff Matters" Section of the Members Area. It is very important that staff monitor their areas of respocibility. For the "Public Area-Stones Rising-Pathways of Service", threads are being created now. If you are team leader for a pathway of service contact ADMIN to set yours up. Just four weeks to Stones! Admin |

This is a System wide message for the Four Quarters Forum. Pre-registrations for Drum and Splash have gone critical, we think we may have more people at Drum and Splash 2002 than we had at Stones in 2002. A New Staff Matters section has been created in the Members Section of the Forum. If you are a Staffer, go there. Now. If you are a Member, feel free to read, and learn about what makes Four Quarters work. The Staff section will be updated often as we prepare for Drum and Splash. Admin |

This is a system wide announcement for the Four Quarters Forum. We have about 60 Four Quarters Members signed on at this point and the message rate has a nice growth curve. Most importantly the content of the forum has been exceptional. In looking to the future and our desire to make Four Quarters more accessable to non-members, I would like to consider moving some of our Members Only topics to the open Public area. These would include the "Special Interests" and "Keeping our Traditions" sections. Some of the excellent conversations now on the "Talk Around the Fire" section would be moved to "Keeping our Traditions" as they are of a religious/spiritual nature. In fact "Talk Around the Fire" seems to be doing a good job of "seeding" conversations, just what was intended. Given that we will be linking the Forum to the public web site in a few weeks, I believe these changes would greatly benifit the non-members who visit. Please post your thoughts to the thread under the "Members Issues" topic. Thanks Admin |

...In just a few days this Forum will begin to recieve its first Four Quarters Members and there are a few points to mention. ...This Forum is being hosted from voxel dot net; our new ISP. But the Four Quarters web site and email is still being hosted from our Bedford County location. So for a week or three there will be no email functionality from the Forum. But do go ahead and set up your email notify preferences in your profile. The ability to be notified of posts you are interested in and reply to them right from your email box is a key feature of this Forum. ...Speaking of your profile, you will notice that there are a number of required info fields. These are used to verify your Farm Membership, and thus your access to restricted areas of this site. And of course that information is private. Only you can choose to share it with other Members of this Forum. Please take the time to look carefully at your Profile, because it is here that you configure the system to meet your needs. ...For the next few weeks, if you have any questions e-mail Orren at megalith@4qf.org ...And if you have registered an account and are a member, contact Orren to be granted access permissions for the Four Quarters Members section of the Forum. |

ABOUT ACCESS PERMISSIONS ...If you are not a Member of Four Quqrters you can still create an account, but you will not be granted access to the Members and other restricted sections of the Forum. ...If you are a Member of Four Quarters go ahead and create your account. Then email megalith@4qf,org with your request to be granted access to the Members Section. You must fill out your Profile and it must contain Name, Address and e-mail info as will match the Members Database at the Church Office before access will be granted. ...If you desire access to the outside groups that we host, create an account as above and email megalith@4qf.org. we will notify the moderator of the group you desire to join and they will set up your permissions. ...All told, it takes about a day to have a secure account on the Forum, and we do it this way because it is very, very secure. Your information will never leave our server without your control. Take Care opw |
