“Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.”

~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

AtTheAltar 1200Celebrants at the Altar, conducting ceremony in the Stone Circle.

We are the Wiccans of Four Quarters. We have come to walk this Land by many strange paths, over the course of Many, Many years. The lessons we have learned are hard-won, and the experience we have gained is invaluable. We have been empowered by our faith, become assured and confident, we have steadily moved closer and closer to Mystery as the years have unfolded around us. We have been touched by magic, thrilled by ceremony, and altered, inexorably for the better by walking the path of Wicca. We have much to share.

We are the Warrior Wiccans. We have fought City Councils, Tax Boards, Newspaper Editors, and other agencies of the Establishment, to assure our rights to practice our Religion. And we sincerely hope that those battles are behind us. We are the Wiccans of Ceremony and Strife. We have survived the “Witch Wars”, and many of us bear the battle scars to prove it. And, despite the struggles, we have thrived.

But, we are aging now. Our time on this Sacred Land draws to a close. And it is a  Sacred Obligation to pass on what we have learned. To teach the well-trod path that inscribes the Circle, to bring about the next generation of Wiccans, to keep the dream alive.

Please meet our Instructors and elder teachers.

Pamela Alexander

pamAlexander“The cup is a symbol of the Goddess. It contains everything, but isn’t controlled by what it contains. Rather, it gives its contents form and shape. What do you want to contain? What do you want to make real?

Take. Drink. This is self-respect. This is the beginning of the end of fear. This is yourself, whom you now take back.”

~Gail Baudino

Pamela Alexander, Lady Forth has been practicing traditional Wicca for 41 years. She has been actively making Ceremony in the Great Stone Circle of Four Quarters for 28 years, and organizing events and Ceremonial Intensives at Four Quarters since 1998.

Pamela’s great love is writing and crafting true psycho-emotive ceremony grounded in the core framework of Traditional Wiccan Practice. She is a Priestess, a Poet, a Mother, a Clown, a Sacred Fool, your well-meaning, but slightly incompetent Four Quarters Office Manager, and an ever-evolving Servant of the Lord and the Lady.

Pamela’s background is Gardnerian, but, during her years of practice, she has evolved a style of ceremony that she feels remains true to the core tenets of the Tradition, but incorporates her love of Ritual Theatre, Ancient and Modern Myth, Song, Symbol, and her strength in identifying the often overlooked talents of others, trying to encourage and empower Future Priests and Priestesses wherever she goes.

Pamela will be very busy during Chalice and the Blade! She will be leading or contributing to several hands-on classes, including: Wicca Protocol 101,  Power and Presence in Circle, and Crafting Large and Small Group Ceremony. She will also be part of the teaching panel for several of our lecture series, working with her partner and High Priest, Michel Lehmuller, Duality and Immanance-The Mysteries of the Heiros Gamos.

Pamela is one of the Members of the Four Quarters Community of Service. She is also the lead organizer for Four Quarters’ Samhain, and a contributing organizer for Stones Rising.

Michel Lehmuller

MichelLehmuller 800Michel Lehmuller is a formal student of Wicca, and a relative newcomer. That being said, he has quickly become a veteran of both formal High Wiccan Ceremony, as well as Modern Psycho-Emotive Ritual. He has been High Priest at the Consecration ceremonies for Stones Rising, for major Samhain ceremonials, including aspecting Hades for the ritual theatre presentation of the Eleusinian Mysteries. He also teaches classes on “Mirth and Reverence” for youngsters and their parents at Four Quarters events, an exploration of how families can get the most out of ceremonies, even when juggling toddlers or very young children.

His style of teaching always includes exploring a broad perspective when faced with challenges, both mundane and magical, and he is a sympathetic ally for anyone who considers themselves to be a “terrible student.” Michel will be bringing the masculine viewpoint to the “Duality and Immanance” class at Chalice and the Blade.

Etain Arngunnr

EtainPreston 800x1200cropEtain is a lifelong observer of the natural world and was drawn to esoteric mysteries at a young age, inventing a religion based on science and math in high school “The Sign of the Isosceles Triangle”. Discovering Wicca in the 1980’s after reading Laurie Cabot’s book “The Power of the Witch”, she was an active member of the Hand of Aries Blue Star coven out of Philadelphia for many decades. A 30 year member of Four Quarters, Etain creates and participates in ritual, workshops and ceremonies often in a HPS role and serves on the board of directors as an advisor. A 2nd degree Witch in the Cabot Tradition out of Salem MA, she is also a member of the Cabot Kent Hermetic Temple which studies the role that quantum physics plays in magick and Witchcraft. She promotes the philosophy that Witchcraft is a Science, an Art, and a Religion. Etain has a Masters in Science, with a thesis on Prehistoric Archeoastronomy in North America. She has written articles for Paganet News, Circle Sanctuary News, the Four Quarters Members Muse, and The Cabot Kent Newsletter.

 Mary Murphy

MaryMurphy 800

My name is Mary Murphy. I am a Modern Traditional Witch, and an artist. I am interested in the Great Work, Alchemy and the Soul's journey. I have taken 12 steps along a crooked path. I believe in love and the divine within. I am an animist, and a channel. I am a student of the Tarot, philosophy, the occult - mainly western traditions and origins, folk lore, natural science, psychology and Quantum science... I love learning. I am ever trying to expand my awareness and understanding–to separate the subtle from the coarse. My journey is based on action coming from love, in the fullest expression of my humanity, as I move towards the Good. This is the spirit in which I offer service to the community.

 Claire German

ClaireGerman 800Claire German has been a dedicated practitioner of Wicca since 1999, having first learned about Wicca from her mother. Her path is Eclectic, drawing from a variety of traditions while maintaining a deep and respectful connection to the mysteries of the Craft. Claire’s teachings emphasize the darker side of the Divine Feminine—guiding students through shadow work, transformation, and the powerful aspects of the Goddess often overlooked. With over two decades of experience, she offers a grounded, insightful, and empowering space for those ready to explore the spiritual path of Wicca.

Paul E. Kendrick

Paul E Kendrick

Paul E. Kendrick (a.k.a. Ganapati), after 32 years (ages 10 through 42) of group & solitary study, practice and discovery of mainstream & alternative religious, new-age, pagan and Wiccan paths, began studying with the Coven of the Moon Spinners in September 1999 and was initiated First Degree (2001), Second Degree (2003) then as Third Degree High Priest into the Alexandrian Tradition of Witchcraft in 2005 through the Moon Spinners Coven under its founder and High Priestess Lady Ceres; separated from the Coven of the Moon Spinners in good standing in 2010. His journey has been very eclectic with studies in Protestant Evangelical Christianity that led to college work in Biblical Studies, but failing academics led his choice to join the U.S. Navy “to broaden his horizons” only to experience them getting stretched out of shape through exposure to multiple cultures and beliefs including the smells & bells of Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodox Christianity, Japanese Shinto & Buddhism, and North American Indigenous teachings and practices. Curiosity led him to explore the writings of Stewart & Janet Farrar, Gerald Gardner, Starhawk, Margot Adler, William Gray, Lady Sheba, etc., etc., and of course etc. After his mother’s passing in March 1995, a dear friend and teacher, Elspeth of Haven, recommended he attend an event that might prove healing thereby attending the first Stones Rising which altered the trajectory of his journey into Mystery and pagan community. A wide-ranging reader, he has a passion for source material for equipping fellow practitioners in understanding the mechanics of Circle Work and the potential for personal growth by coming to know and operate with what is actually happening in the body, mind and spirit.

Respecting that some people need to use pseudonyms for personal security, he prefers to go by his legal name, Paul, outside of Circle. He holds fast to two operative truths: 1) “I stand in the Center; all Truth comes to me” and 2) to quote Smokey the Bear “Only you…” Both involve personal responsibility and interactive connectivity (ala mycelial networking).

Paul founded the Alexandrian coven Torus of Being (2025), which is dedicated to the Great Work of furthering the awakening, evolution, and enlightenment of our society as practical, spiritual and magickal practitioners via an evolutionary development of foundational traditions received from firsthand teachers, and those from afar such as authors. We work to facilitate responsible education and training in Traditional and Modern Witchcraft open to all seekers, which is continually evolving and improving. Torus of Being offers equal opportunity participation to any adult over eighteen years of age regardless of race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, intersex status, and previous religious or spiritual path who are committed to personal and collaborative growth.

Maenad Bergsman

MaeBergsman portrait 800Maenad (Mae) Bergsman is a Sabbatic Witch, a theologian, and a Pharmakis. Her writings on pagan theology have been published in several periodical (including Four Quarters' Wheel of the Year). In the tradition of Andrew Chumbley, Austin Osman Spare, and the classical Dionysians, Maenad considers magic to be a form of art. It is an art that allows her to synthesize her theatrical experience(as an actor, director, and playwright) with her knowledge of religious history(focused on Greco-Egyptian religion) to create new rituals empowered with techniques learned from the ancient and modern world. Mae is excited to share with you the fruits of this creative process and some insights gained along the path.

2025 Class Descriptions

Event Home Page | Meet Our Faculty | Schedule & Classes

AltarNight19 1200Costumed officiant assumes a persona of deity at the altar, Stones Rising 2023.

Descritions Efective 5/19/25 - All schedule items are subject to change due to logistics, weather considerations, and as always – the whims of mischeivious Gods.

Wicca Protocol 101

Class Prospectus:

  • By the end of this class, students should be able to move confidently in Circle, both deosil and widdershins.
  • By the end of this class, students should be able to locate the 4 Cardinal directions.
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to inscribe a simple invoking Pentagram with the tool of their choice-finger, athame, or wand
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to cast a circle using any of the basic tools of Wicca.
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to open and close a doorway in a cast circle
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to invoke and devoke a Quarter, while turning in the correct direction

Summation:
So, this is the most basic “building block” class of Wicca. In essence, it teaches the mechanics of creating the Circle as sacred container. The class should also touch briefly on preparation for ceremony, and a rundown of the energetics involved in the skills we are building.

This class should not be confused with a class on correspondences. We won’t be teaching the symbolism and meanings of the Elements or Circle here, just the mechanics of how to not run into each other, and which way to turn, walk, and waggle our wands.

“Duality and Immanence: Taking Delight in the Dance”

Class Prospectus

  • By the end of the class, students should have a good grasp of the principles of the “indwelling divinity” as expressed in the philosophy of immanence.
  • By the end of the class, students should have a good grasp of the magical properties of masculine and feminine energies.
  • By the end of the class, students should have a good grasp of why Wicca is, at its core, fundamentally, and inarguably a fertility religion.
  • By the end of the class, students should be cognizant of the sexually charged relationship between the God and the Goddess, and how that relationship moves through the cycles and seasons of Nature.
  • By the end of the class,  students should be familiar with both the mechanics and the energetics of the Great Rite
  • By the end of this class students should be able to look within themselves and at least begin to find that manifestation of Divinity expressed in the words, “Thou Art God/Thou Art Goddess”

“Mythology of Wicca”

Class Prospectus

Come explore the legendary stories and beliefs that surround Wicca today. Dive into the mythology and romanticism of its origins, the inheritance from the Old Religion of Europe, perceptions both positive and negative, and everything in between. We’ll cover the cyclical mythological story arcs that comprise the Wheel of the Year to the belief in fairy bloodlines, healing powers of herbs and crystals, and varying views on deities. We’ll touch on the debate of whether one is born a Witch or made a Witch, and varying stances and assumptions on solitary Wiccans vs covens and self-initiated versus traditional lineages.Wicca and Witchcraft are rich in myths and folklore that range the spectrum from the mundane to the fantastical, even as they continue to evolve with modern times and new myths are born.

“Dark Aspects of the Divine”

Class Prospectus

Upon Completion of this course, students will…

  • Explore Hecate as Crone, delving into her role as a goddess of death, shadow, and rebirth.
  • Engage in guided shadow work to confront, honor, and integrate repressed or hidden aspects of the self.
  • Work with symbols of Hecate’s fourth face—keys, torches, crossroads, Hecate’s Wheel, and the dark moon—as tools of spiritual transformation.
  • Navigate the inner underworld through trance and ritual to uncover personal wisdom and reclaim lost parts of the soul.
  • Understand the Crone archetype through a Wiccan lens, and apply that wisdom to real-life transitions, grief, aging, and endings.
  • Cultivate a deeper relationship with darkness as sacred, seeing death and decay not as feared, but as vital forces of spiritual evolution.

Summation:
Blending myth, ritual, and psychological insight, students will explore the fourth phase of Hecate for use in personal transformation.

Correspondences

Class Prospectus

Objectives:

• To discover, discern, and discuss the Elements, Directions, Planets; their symbolism, and inter-relatedness and how they affect the Embodied Spirit.
• Create a welcoming space for practitioners, at any level, to discuss and share ideas in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
• Encourage students to expand their definition and understanding of the 4 elements and correspondences
• To introduce imagination/creativity as a tool of “knowing,” a direct connection between the soul and a higher power

Summation:
This class is designed to engage the students at their level of understanding then introduce concepts to build upon in a safe environment of curiosity, respect and creativity.

Weaving the Craft: The Art of Group Ceremony

Class Prospectus:

Objectives:

  • By the end of this class, students should be able to have basic skills for crafting both large and small group ceremonies.
  • By the end of this class, students should be able to create symbolism, and understand the concepts of sympathetic and representational magic in ceremonial workings.
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to understand the mechanics of crafting a large-group procession, and how to allot time for it.
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to begin crafting ceremonies for private or public use.
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to create a sense of intimacy and immediacy, no matter how large or small a group they are working with.
  • By the end of this class, students will be able to develop their skills at crafting ritual, and learn how to avoid common pitfalls.

Summation:
This class is designed to be a hands-on experience in creating impactful ceremony for varying sizes of groups of people. It will address common questions of process and mechanics of ceremonial craftwork, as well as how to put in the “mojo” to keep the ritual relevant and engaging.

This class has a prerequisite of either having completed the Wicca 101 class, or having some degree of familiarity of basic Wiccan working and Circle manners and protocol. We will not be teaching the mechanics of basic Circle in this class.

“Majick, Mind, and Matrix”
Class Prospectus:

Objectives:

  • Understand the natural mechanics of the universe and how it enables Majick
  • Gain an understanding of the Hermetic Principles of Majick and how they relate to quantum physics
  • Learn how to increase the probability matrix to enhance your Majick and spellwork
  • Understand the role of resonance and frequency in Majick, meditation and healing

Summation:
The largest part of a tree is unseen, it is the extensive hidden network of roots and biochemical interactions that facilitate and communicate with the foundational components of soil and mycorrhizal connections. And so it is with you. The largest part of ourselves is the unseen, though sometimes sensed, point of connection to the energy fields of the universe that can be accessed and explored. It is the underlying quantum matrix of energy and frequencies that form our foundation and connect us to the universal matrix. In this workshop we will cover a range of topics such as our reality as vibrational beings, the observer effect on a quantum system and the work of Masaru Emoto, working with the Hermetic Principles, and why Witchcraft is an art, a science and a religion.
