The Stones stand tall, holding vigil as night falls.
The Crypt is open, lit by candles and steeped in memory.

We stand together, in Circle, and we remember...

“Treat the world well. It was not given to you by your parents.
It was willed to you by your children..”

– Kenyan Proverb

This Samhain, we take time to look into the events that affect us then, now, and when.

Our task this Samhain is to glimpse past the Veil. To spend time in the Otherworld. To touch the Sacred Space, meet with our Guides and Guardians, and, above all, learn about ourselves.

The autumn winds blow cool, and the veil is thin. Friday night, we call and honor our Ancestors...those who came before.

On Saturday, we honor the ancestors yet to be by celebrating the present: continuing the Work of the Labyrinth, tying the past to the present. At noon we will celebrate the Croning of Pamela Alexander by the presiding Crones, with Marcia Bourgeois, In Service. Sweat Lodge will be running our last ceremonies of the season. For our children (young and old) we sponsor mask-making, Jack-o-Lantern carving, and evening trick-or-treats and pinata fun.

Saturday evening we don the masks of our Shadow Selves and share a Feast for our Ancestors, followed by Ceremony for the Dead in the Circle of Standing Stones. As is our Samhain tradition, the Burial Crypt will be open and alight. If you wish, bring a small picture or a talisman of your own Beloved Dead to place on the Ancestors’ Altar.

On Sunday morning, we share breakfast in the Starvin’ Artist Café before parting.

The Labyrinth

Our work will include joining the crews at the Labyrinth to set more curbstones, for this living structure is a gateway into ourselves and the Otherworld. We welcome all, especially new builders, to come participate in building and walking this 84 foot diameter labyrinth. Come prepared to work in the dirt! Bring work gloves, sturdy shoes, rugged clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and a water bottle. To walk our labyrinth is to walk a purposeful path – no obstacles, no puzzles – inward to the center, then outward into the world.
