Registration and Visitors Policy at Four Quarters
Actually, our policies are simple. In a nutshell:
- Take your trash home with you; we do not provide any kind of trash service.
- Park in Main Parking. The Camp is for people
- We have no tolerance for public drunkeness
- Keep the noise down, most folks are here for the quiet.
- Dress as you would for a day at the beach.
- Please do not bring your pets.
- Treat each other with consideration.
See, it is easy.
But we do have a full policy statement.

Camp Policies
For many reasons, it is crucial that we know who is on the Land.
You must stop and park your car in the parking area across the road from the Farmhouse and Sign In at the Office EVERY VISIT!
Please note: We have a No Pet Policy, please do not bring your pets to visit. Thank you for understanding.
About Grounds Fees
$10 per night for Members; $15 per night for non-members on open weekends. Grounds fees are those fees paid for overnight physical access to the camp on Moon Service and Off Weekends. If you arrive earlier or wish to stay longer, grounds fees are available at the same “per night” rate. There is no charge for a day trip visit to Four Quarters. (Note: Grounds Fees are waived for Staff and Promoting Members)
About Camping during a Scheduled Event
Members and their guests may camp in the Members Camp during almost all scheduled events without registering for the event. At these times they may use the Lower Shower House, but are honor bound not to enter the Public Camp, or participate in any of the scheduled events activities.
Beltaine, Drum & Splash, WickerMan, Stones Rising, Samhain and Yule require event registration.
About Our Clothing Policy
In the public camp dress as you would for a day at the beach, with skinny dipping in the river. Groups reserving the public camp set their own policies.
About Our Drug and Alcohol Policy
Controlled substances and contraband are as illegal at Four Quarters as anywhere else. The legal drinking age in PA is 21. Please, no public area drinking of alcohol in original containers; put that brew in a coffee cup. We have ZERO tolerance for public intoxication of any kind.
About Camp Etiquette
Be a good neighbor and respect others. No private radios or amplified instruments, no excessively loud noise, and of course, no weapons.
About Camp Fires by Permit
At all times, camp fires are by permit only. $10 Members, $15 non-members includes your Steel Fire Ring and firewood for the weekend. Never, ever move rocks to line a fire ring! Creating an open Fire Pit is forbidden at Four Quarters. Please do not stockpile wood; unburned wood must be returned to the wood piles by staff in order to allow us to care for the grounds. Please do not burn paper, plastic or foil in your fire ring; it leaves a poisonous residue that kills the soil. Please do return your Fire Ring to Registration or Hospitality and never, ever leave your fire unattended.
About Your Car
The Camp is for People, the Main Parking Area is for Cars. We are positively anti-automobile, so please return your car to Main Parking as soon as possible after off-loading your camping gear. Please do not drive your car into the wooded areas of camp and do observe the “No Vehicles” signs; just pull your vehicle off the road and carry your gear the last few feet to your camp site. Please do not ever leave your vehicle in any intersections or in any of the entrances to the High Meadow or the Kitchen. Not even for a minute.
About In-Camp Parking by Permit
During our Scheduled Events, a very limited number of In-Camp Parking Spots are available by permit, directly across from the Hospitality Pavilion. A Parking Pass for your vehicle is $25, purchased at registration or at the pavilion. Please park your vehicle as instructed, or as close to the red ribbon and the other cars as you can.
IF YOU HAVE A HANDICAPPED PLACARD FOR YOUR CAR, SEE US FOR YOUR FREE PARKING PASS.
About In-Camp Car Camping and RVs by Permit
During our Fund Raisers we allow car camping by permit in the East end of the High Meadow. Permits are $15 for each vehicle or trailer, $25 for those over 20 feet in length. RV spots are very limited and their $35 permits should be reserved in advance.
About Your Trash
Four Quarters is Green. We do not provide trash service; you must pack out everything you bring in. If you like, you may purchase one of our trash bags and leave it at the office on your way home. Littering is profound disrespect of the land and will be a cause for expulsion. Put your cigarette butts in your pockets.
About Swimming
Feel free to swim in the Hemlock Hole. But remember that it is wild, natural and dangerous. NO PROVISIONS FOR YOUR SAFETY HAVE BEEN TAKEN! YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK! Please do not get out of the water on the far bank, and NEVER, NEVER jump into the water. To do so is cause for expulsion. And please, no soap of any kind may be used in the creek. The beavers hate it.
About Your Campsite
Camp as lightly as possible upon the land. Dig no drainage ditches around your tents and no tent stakes closer than 6 feet to a graveled road. Please do not camp in the marked workshop or sacred sites. The Big Bottom is a Members Only Camping Area. Please observe the posted “No Vehicle” areas of camp.
About Our Showers
Our showers are everlastingly hot, and are self-serve any time the kitchen generator is operating. Read the posted instructions and enjoy! Have twice the fun, shower with a friend, save water and fuel.
About The Starvin’ Artist Café
It is our pride and joy. Built with volunteer labor and donations. Staff-prepared food as an act of service and love, building real Community, one bite at a time. If you are on the Meal Plan, please bring your own eating utensils, plate and cup. If you are not on the Meal Plan... Oh well, there is always next time!
About Drum Circle
A safe, sacred space to ride the spirit of the Drum. Please be aware that at our Fund Raisers, Drum Circle is cleaned and prepared each evening as an act of service, helping to maintain the Drum Circle at Four Quarters as a place of mystery, magic and respect.
When sharing Drum Circle remember that alcohol and tobacco are not permitted on the sanded areas and No Glass of any kind. If you drum, please group yourself around the Jun-Juns (bass drums) in the south of the circle, forming a crescent of support for the dancers and the people. If you like to drum while sitting, bring a chair; and please do not drag the wooden benches towards the fire until very late in the evening.
