Yule at Four Quarters
Yule and Winter Solstice
Friday-Sunday December 15-17, 2017
The Wheel has Turned: the Harvest has ended and Frost covers the Land. The Days have grown Short and the Nights Long and cold. Each day there is more Darkness and less Light…how can we be sure the Light will return? Join us as we help the Light overcome the Darkness by exchanging Gifts of Love and Laughter, Blessing the Land and each Other, and Sharing food with the Community, and making plans for the sunny days to come.
As we arrive on Friday afternoon, we will gather and catch up with friends over cups of warm cider, and make crafts to take home with us to celebrate the season. In the evening as we embark on celebrating this time of traditions, we will honor our ancestors and thank them for their lives, which have made ours possible.
On Saturday, much fun and merriment will be had by all as we let the “Reindeer Games” begin! We will make Solstice candles, exchange yummy homemade cookies, wear our funniest holiday outfits, and enjoy a hayride to Wassail around the land. In the afternoon, we will reflect on the messages of Yule, and prepare for the evening’s ceremony where we witness the setting of the sun on this, one of the Shortest Days of the Year…and the battle between Light and Dark will begin. After ceremony, we will Celebrate with our tribe with the Feast, and exchange gifts of love and kindness with each other.
We are seeking volunteers to help in a variety of roles, big and small; if you have ever been interested in helping out, this would be a good way to try it out! Call the office or contact Carrie Krystek at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
